Maxwell Moore has worked as a combat medic with the US military in places ranging from East Timor and North Africa to Iraq and, most recently, Afghanistan.

The active duty Navy Corpsman, who is working in support of a Navy Seal training team in Coronado, California, has witnessed abject poverty on his travels.

Yet, when he returned home to Los Angeles, he was still shocked by the appalling living conditions of those living on the streets in the city.

After a serious tuberculosis outbreak among LA's homeless in 2013 he started a soap company. He gives one bar away to someone in need for every bar he sells.
